Is there any chance this tool will be available again soon? Bryce has a new working version in testing now.

Is there any chance this tool will be available again soon? Very good chance in fact. The download link at the top of this thread has been restored. The problem with the tool has been fixed. Thanks. -- Bryce

Bryce,
Thanks for updating the tool. I have been using the tool to convert our Ward directory. I pull the content from the lds.org site under our Ward's information then build out the file structure and create the .ybk. It has been great having quick and easy access to our Ward list.
Thanks again for the tool.

What am I doing wrong? I typed my P.B. and converted it to an HTML file. Used Expresso to delete unnecessary tags. Then converted the html to .ybk. It appeared to work. I now have a file PB.ybk. I moved it to the folder with my other .ybk files. Opened the reader. Refreshed the library, but it doesn't show up in my Gospel Library (table of contents) like my other books. What am I missing or doing wrong?

Thanks! I followed the detailed instructions and it worked like a charm. I am going to try a few more items like Line of Authority and other small books for practice. Once I master these, I would be willing to assist with other projects. Again thanks

I downloaded YanCEbook.zip and noticed that it does not include Gzip and I can't seem to get it to work. I get the following message: U:\Ebooks>yanceybook "PB" \BINDING.HTML 'gzip' is not recognized as an internal or external com operable program or batch file. Can't open PB\PB.HTML.GZ: No such file or directory
Am I missing something?

You can download gzip.exe from here: jaromolson.com/download/ just right click on the gzip.exe file in the list. It was distributed with the previous YanceyBook.exe file. Once you download it, place it in the same folder / location as YanceyBook.exe. It will look for it to complete the .ybk file creation process.

I've added it to the yanceybook.zip file on my site. You can download the zip file again. Thanks. -- Bryce

Both gzip.exe and yanceybook.exe need to be in the root path for the book you are trying to create or they need to be located in a directory that is included in your executable search path (if you are not certain, copy them to your windows directory, as that is usually included in the search path). Also, since you're new to the forums, you should be aware that the yanceybook tool will not convert an e-book to YanCEyWare Reader format for you. It simply compiles an e-book that you have already manually created into a single ybk file for easy portability. All the real work has to be done before you even run the yanceybook tool. For more information on creating YanCEyWare Reader custom content, please read through the following information: Here... yanceyware.proboards4.com//index.cgi?board=test&action=display&thread=1019613852And here... www.ldschinese.com/pda/yancey/tutorial.html Thanks. -- Bryce
